Timber Pest Inspections & Reports

At Pest M8 Pest Control, our Timber Pest Inspections cover all accessible and practical areas of your property.

We check interiors, roof cavities (where manhole access exists), subfloors (if accessible), and external structures using tools such as the latest Termatrac (Itracer) that includes a radar, thermal imaging, and moisture meters to detect termite activity.

Please note that inspections cannot cover hidden areas, such as behind walls, under carpets, insulation, or in spaces too small to access.

We encourage clients to move furniture and stored goods before inspection to allow better access.

Following the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed report highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations to help protect your property from termite damage.

Termite Control &Termite Treatments

There are two primary types of chemical soil treatments used for termite management: repellent and non-repellent termiticides.

Repellent Termiticides
Repellent products, such as Bifenthrin, create a treated zone in the soil that is toxic to termites. When applied in a continuous barrier around a property’s foundations, termites will detect and avoid the treated soil. While highly effective in pre-construction, achieving a complete barrier can be challenging in existing homes due to construction features such as concrete abutting the structure.

Non-Repellent Termiticides
Non-repellent products, such as Fipronil, are undetectable to termites. Rather than avoiding the treated soil, termites travel through it and unknowingly come into contact with the active ingredient, which leads to colony elimination. This approach is especially effective in treating active infestations.
